Why Volunteer at True Beauty?

This will be my second year working with the Leaders of True Beauty. I truly consider it an honor and privilege to work with an incredible team of leaders with a passion to pour into the incredible girls that come to True Beauty. I genuinely see the happiness, hope and undying urning for knowledge from each young girl. From watching the girls interact in their classes, to eating snacks and watching movies, the time doesn't seem long enough. I look forward to seeing new girls come out each year and sees the growth and strength of relationships as they return for years to come. Truly an impacting and powerful time for the girls that attend as well as those of us who want to be a part of their lives.
Volunteering at true beauty is not only an opportunity to support and encourage young teenage girls facing many circumstances and insecurities, but it also an opportunity to learn from them. To watch them go from timid and afraid, to encouraging other girls and walking in self confidence was an eye opener for me. It is just an incredible experience because these young teenage girls have so much to offer, they are incredibly talented, sweet, kind-hearted and all they want to do express all these wonderful qualities. They teach you about humility and confidence when facing difficulty situations in life, and its always a humbling experience when i realized that i in fact learned from these girls. If anything,i would tell you that True Beauty girl's conference is getting to know these young girls on a personal level, it is unknowingly influencing them and finding out they too influenced you in a many ways you never thought about. This is a conference that is not worth missing, it is fun and an incredible experience. I am attending again this year and am seriously looking forward to it...it is a weekend to remember.
Volunteer (Leader) Information
True Beauty Leaders requirements:
- Must be age 18 or oldersubmit a pastor’s recommendation with their registration form.
- All leaders must be willing and able to participate in conference activities and be supportive and encouraging to those attending the conference.
- Leaders must also be ready to supervise and take responsibility for any registered girl attending the conference.
- All leaders will be placed on a volunteer assignment sheet to help with the entire conference (kitchen and bathroom duty, room supervisors, etc.). These duties will be scheduled on a floating roster.
- Each leader is required to provide a copy of a police security clearance (by the early bird registration date) – leaders are responsible for the cost of the clearance and photocopies are accepted.
- Leaders are asked to stay on site with the girls for the duration of the conference. Any exceptions must be discussed with a representative of the True Beauty leadership team.
- Attendance at a quick leadership meeting at the beginning of the conference.
- All leaders are asked to pay a minimum cost to assist in covering costs for the conference. This year the required fee is $40.00.
